Royal Wind Band Delft performed in the New Church of Delft

November 14 the Royal Wind Band Delft was invited for a special occasion, the opening of the new church.

After a long period of renovation this great historic church  was the stage for us.  We started with music form the Film: Soldier of Orange !

Delft is inextricably linked with the Dutch royal family. Almost every deceased member of the royal family since William of Orange has been interred in the royal crypts at the New Church. The most recent interrals took place in 2002 and 2004, when three members of the family were laid to rest here.

It was a great ocncert. My personal highlight wass the performance of the filmmusic of E.T. composed by John Williams a the stunning arrangement of Ton van Grevenbroek,

Ton was conductor of the windband for many years !
